What types of motorbikes are available for rent?

Our fleet includes urban scooters, touring, adventure motorcycles, and electric models. We have options for those looking for city mobility or open road adventure.

What are the requirements for renting a motorbike?

You must have:

  • Over 19 years of age.
  • A valid driving license suitable for the motorcycle's displacement, held for at least one year.
  • A valid identification document (Citizen Card or Passport).
  • A credit card for a deposit (mandatory).

 

How can I make a reservation?

Directly here on our website :

  • Choose the motorbike
  • Define dates, times, and pick-up/drop-off stations.
  • Submit the request, and we will confirm availability as soon as possible.
Can I pick up and drop off the motorbike at different locations?

Yes, as long as it is at a Europcar Bikes station. There may be additional costs associated, which are indicated at the time of booking.

What is included in the rental?

The base rental includes:

  • Motorbike with third-party liability insurance.
  • Limited or unlimited mileage (depending on the plan).
  • 24/7 roadside assistance.
  • 1 helmet (approved model).
  • Extras like a top case, a second helmet, or GPS can be added during the reservation.
What if it rains or I have to cancel the trip?

We have flexible change and cancellation policies. You can consult the details at the time of booking or contact our team.

Can I travel outside of Portugal with the motorbike?

In some cases, yes. It depends on the model and destination.

You should state this intention in the reservation request so we can validate the authorization and coverage.

How does the deposit work?

At the time of pick-up, an amount will be blocked on your credit card as a deposit. This amount is unblocked at the end of the rental, after checking the motorbike.

Are there insurance options or deductible reduction?

Yes, we have insurance options that significantly reduce the deductible in case of an accident. The values may vary by station and vehicle category. Details are available at the Europcar Reservation Center ([email protected], +351 21 940 77 90) or at our counters.

Are the motorbikes delivered with fuel?

Yes, we deliver the motorbike with a full tank and ask that you return it in the same condition. Otherwise, a refueling fee will be applied.

How do I use highways?

All eligible vehicles are equipped with Via Verde devices, which means you do not have to stop to pay tolls. The tolls will be charged later to the credit card used for the deposit.

What if I have questions during the trip?

You have access to our 24h support line and roadside assistance. We want you to feel safe from the first to the last kilometer.

Can I ride outside Portugal with this motorcycle?

Yes. Insured motorcycles are covered for international travel in the countries included in the Green Card (International Motor Insurance Certificate) associated with the policy.

Which countries can I travel to with this insurance policy?

Are there countries where I am not allowed to travel with this policy?

Yes. Some countries are expressly excluded from international coverage. Travel in these territories is not permitted under this policy unless additional specific insurance is contracted. 

Excluded countries include, among others:
Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Israel, Iran, among others.

If in doubt about a specific country, the customer must always confirm in advance.

Do I need prior authorisation to cross borders?

No, as long as the trip is limited to the countries included in the policy.
International travel within these territories is automatically covered.

What documents should I carry when travelling internationally?

We recommend that the rider always carries:

  • A valid identification document

  • A valid driving licence for the destination country

  • The rental agreement

  • A digital copy of the Green Card (paper format is not mandatory)

Does the insurance include roadside assistance abroad?

Yes. The policy includes roadside assistance, valid in the covered countries, in accordance with the contracted terms and limits (towing, technical support, etc.).

Can I take organised tours or long trips outside Portugal?

Yes, provided that:

  • The countries visited are included in the policy

  • The use of the motorcycle complies with the rental agreement

  • There is no off-road use where not permitted

For organised tours or long-distance trips, we recommend prior validation to ensure full compliance.

What happens if I enter a non-covered country?

Entering an excluded country results in:

  • Total absence of insurance coverage

  • Full responsibility of the rider for any damages, fines, or incidents

  • Possible breach of contract

Where can I confirm the updated list of covered countries?

The list is always stated on the Green Card associated with the motorcycle.
In case of doubt, our team is available to confirm before the trip.
