Spanning 739 km from Chaves to Faro, the N2 takes riders through mountain roads, the Douro Valley, technical inland ranges, the vast Alentejo plains, and finally the vibrant light of the Algarve — one of Europe’s most diverse and rewarding motorcycle routes.

5 days - itenerary

day 1 - Chaves - Douro

With your N2 Passport ready, the journey begins in Portugal’s deep north, surrounded by some of the country’s most lush and scenic landscapes. It’s a day of pure riding pleasure, flowing through technical curves and winding roads that gradually lead you towards the Douro Valley.

day 2 - Douro - Centro de Portugal

Heading towards central Portugal, the route follows the landscapes of the Mondego riverbanks and reservoirs, crossing mountain ranges and perfectly carved curves made for two wheels.

day 3 - Centro - Alto Alentejo

On this day, Portugal’s transformation becomes even more pronounced. The landscape opens wide as the Alentejo plains begin to dominate, traffic fades away, and silence becomes your constant companion.

day 4 - Alto Alentejo - Baixo Alentejo

After the mountain ranges and technical curves, the ride unfolds into vast plains and endless straights. Golden fields, historic towns, and the authentic gastronomy of the Alentejo region define the day’s journey.

day 5 - Alentejo - Faro

The Serra do Caldeirão provides the perfect setting to conclude Portugal’s legendary Route 66. Before reaching Faro, the final kilometres of the journey become a true ode to motorcycling — flowing curves, quiet roads, and a final stretch to remember.
